The flu affects many people every year. The symptoms are, cough, fever, body aches, runny nose, fatigue and sore throat, headache and loss of appetite. No one is immune to this virus 🦠 However, people with weaker immune systems, like the elderly, and the sick, it can be dangerous and may lead to complications like pneumonia.

Hey guys what’s up this is Tricia from Mind•Body•Soul. Hope you’re healthy and well during this mass hysteria that’s going on with the COVID-19 aka Coronavirus.

In this video I’ll be going over a few tips to keep you healthy and on track during flu season. Investing in your health is the best thing you can do during cold and flu season.

1. Strengthen your Immune System

Strengthening your immune is the best way to fight off the flu. Eating a healthy diet full of nutrient dense foods, getting plenty of rest, keeping yourself hydrated, taking a multi-vitamin and regular exercise are vital to your health during flu season. If you do become ill, the severity of your symptoms will be lesser and you will bounce back quicker if you have a strong immune system.

2. Clean and Disinfect

If someone is sick with the flu at home make sure you wipe down and disinfect all areas, like countertops, doorknobs, and light switches this will kill the germs and reduce your risk of getting the infection. Good Hygiene- wash your damn hands!

3. Good Sleep – it’s important when you have the flu to get plenty of good sleep. Why? Sleep is associated with a brain protein called AcPb that has been shown to speed up recovery in tests done on lab mice that were infected with the flu strain H1N1. … It strengthens the immune system to the max and you’ll fight off the flu better and make a speedier recovery because of it.

4. Natural Remedies to Ward off the Flu 🤒

If you don’t believe in getting stabbed by your local pharmacist here are some natural remedies that may help prevent getting the flu.

Vitamin C- Vitamin C can shorten the lifespan of a cold plus it is great for your overall health and gives your immune system a boost. Stay Hydrated- staying hydrated during cold and flu season can help flush germs out of your system. Staying hydrated is also recommended for faster recovery.

5. Zinc

Zinc boosts the immune system and has an anti-viral effect. Zinc keeps the immune system strong and helps fight off viruses and bacteria in the body. However, it is recommended that you take as soon as you start to feel fluish. I recommend cold-eeze. In order for Zinc to be effective it must be anywhere from 13 and 23 milligrams, cold-eeze and Nature’s way are the only two that have been tested that provided enough zinc. According to the Mayo Clinic zinc does not prevent colds but it may keep cold viruses from multiplying and taking up residence in the nose and throat.

6. Elderberry

Elderberry strengthens the immune system and blocks the virus from sticking to the cells. Elderberry has been know to also reduce upper respiratory symptoms which can be a safer alternative to taking a prescription drug.

One last thing, Instead of putting your energy into running all over town to hoard TP and hand sanitizer, I’m asking that you please channel all that energy into healing this planet. Thank you 🙏
