Ashwagandha – Reduce Stress and Increase Performance. Ashwagandha-You’ve probably never heard of it, but if you’re trying to maximize performance then this is why you need to know about it. It reduces stress, boost memory, and assists in strength and endurance training.

Native to India and North Africa Ashwagandha is a flowering shrub whose roots have been commonly used as a healing herb over 3,000 years to relieve stress, increase energy levels, and improve concentration as well as being used as an aphrodisiac and memory enhancer. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen which increases the body’s ability to adapt to stress with no significant side effects. In addition it can decrease stress-induced physical damage over time. It can also potentially block the stress processing pathway and decrease cortisol levels, which in return reduces anxiety. Ashwagandha protects, restores and counteracts the effects of oxidative stress, which is one of the major causes of brain aging. Additionally it has shown significant improvement in sustained attention and the speed of information processing. In a study of healthy volunteers participants enjoyed a significant increase in strength of muscle activity after supplementing Ashwagandha after thirty days. If endurance training is your thing, ashwagandha root extract taken eight weeks was shown to increase, velocity, power, and VO2 max during increased intensity exercise in healthy young adults. Ashwagandha and cardiovascular benefits – reduces bad cholesterols, decreases inflammation markers, which is associated with heart disease, while increasing the activity of infection fighting cells. The reason I started taking Ashwagandha was for anxiety, to increase my endurance and get the most out of my high intensity workouts. . #ashwagandharoot #ashwagandhabenefits #reducestress #increaseperformance #nosignificantsideeffects #allnatural #boostmemory #superfood
