Have you fallen into the trap of FITNESS BURNOUT? 🔥🔥🔥
Have you ever had a day or days when you just want to bail on your gym session, you have a little pep talk with yourself and eventually you move past those feelings and get it done.
Well Fitness Burnout however, is different, it’s when you constantly feel run down to the point you start to lose interest in working out and it’s no longer at the top of your priority list. Instead of your gym sessions energizing and rejuvenating you, they leave you feeling completely exhausted. You will feel like throwing in the towel and may say to yourself, there’s always next week. This is a sign you could be over training and not taking the necessary recovery time to let your body rest. You may need to take a break and do something more soothing for the body, like meditation, get a massage, or treat yourself to a nice warm bath.
Hey guys what’s up this is Tricia with Mind, Body, Soul and I hope you guys are having a spectacular day.
In this video I’m going to talk about what causes Fitness Burnout and how you can prevent it.
So what causes FITNESS BURNOUT?
A couple things come to mind from my own experiences, over training and not enough time for your body to recovery. Another key factor which many of us fall into is boredom with doing the same routine over and over, day in and day out without challenging yourself. Don’t forget to mix up your routine every now and then to keep you thriving toward your goal.
The physical effects of fitness burnout are feelings of exhaustion and run down which can have a direct impact on your overall performance and delay the recovery process. The mental effect is complete boredom to the point that you will soon begin to dread working out.
How To Prevent Fitness Burnout
Mix it up
Switch things up, doing the same workout everyday will not only lead to boredom but eventually you will hit a plateau. Try taking a spin class, switch back and forth with heavy weights, low reps to light weights high reps, go for a hike, do some light yoga, hit the park up for a HIIT routine. The key is to always keep your body guessing.
Do What You Love
It’s important to do what you love, so find your fitness passion and do what you love otherwise you may not keep doing it. Just get out there and get moving!
Fuel Your Body
Don’t forget to fuel your body and stay hydrated after a workout. This will assist in the recovery process. It is also notable that getting seven to eight hours of sleep is beneficial for muscle growth.
